Hello everyone,
Welcome to my blog! I leave for PNG this Friday evening (May 23), but I won't be in Ukarumpa until sometime Monday afternoon their time, which will be late Sunday night or early Monday morning in Eastern time.* After that, I hope to be updating frequently.
*For future reference, Papua New Guinea is 14 hours ahead of Eastern Daylight Savings time.

About my summer
I'm spending a large part of this summer in Papua New Guinea (north of Australia) to volunteer with Wycliffe Bible Translators. Wycliffe is known as the Summer Institute of Linguistics (SIL) in PNG, so I will most likely refer to it by that name throughout my blog entries. I am using my major in accounting to work in the finance office of SIL, and I am staying in the village of Ukarumpa during my time here.
